99% of all programs used to teach reading, whether at school, in books or online, are actually just variations and re-naming of the same theme. Behavioural reading is completely new and strongly challenges the status quo of traditional reading methodologies. In the words of Fletcher, Lyons, Fuchs and Barnes 2007,'...most interventions involve... encouraging to practice....repeated readings....guided reading and simply trying to increase the amount of time.... in independent reading.'

It is a sad situation to think that in this day and age, these primitive techniques are still the status quo for teaching reading fluency and where the focus of academia is.

Behavioural reading was conceptualized on state of the art training and coaching techniques that have exposed a breakthrough in how reading can be taught rapidly, predictably and captures the bottom 20% who usually fail.

Unlike conventional methods, Behavioural Reading actually creates correct behavioural and neurological sequencing and leads the child to correct and effective reading, quickly and predictably.

BR does not specifically address the root causes of Dyslexia. Dyslexia is a real disorder and includes very significant atypical brain functioning. Though many programmes make claims to assist with this disorder, there is one that stands alone in its 'gains for effort' ratio. (see Cellfield). In our clinic, Cellfield is used in conjunction with BR to produce great results. (see Tyquin Data).

With a view to the future...., making pedagogical changes in the lower grades incorporating BR methods, will further assist the high achieving reader, resolve most problems for the 'struggling' reader, improve teacher productivity and reduce costs to the school by reducing demand on learning support services.
